What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in begins at 3 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m. eastern time zone (EST). We are staffed 24/7 to assist you. For your security and privacy, access to the building is locked to those without a room key and there is a phone in the vestibule that you can pick up to speak directly with a guest attendant on-site.  

Can you accommodate an early or late check-in?

Please notify us in advance if you need an early check-in and we will do our best to accommodate. The hotel is staffed 24/7, the guest representative on duty will be glad to help you check in at any time after 3 p.m. even if you arrive late into the evening. 

Do you offer breakfast?

Yes! The Vault offers a complimentary breakfast every morning from 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. We have locally sourced items such as quiche, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, and more. We are also within walking distance to many local restaurants. 

We offer complimentary pantry snacks and drinks all day long.

How is your wireless internet?

We have reliable, high-speed, secured, fiber optic internet throughout the building free for guests to access.  

Does the Vault Hotel have parking?

The Vault Hotel parking deck is covered which does prevent access for most trailers. The City of Houghton has free trailer parking a few blocks away from the hotel. Feel free to email us at info@thevaulthotel.com or call and we will do our best to find alternative parking to accommodate your needs. 

Do you allow pets?

The Vault Hotel does not allow pets which is in our terms and conditions. We are happy to provide a list of recommended local boarding options if needed. Please call the hotel directly for more assistance. 

Is the hotel non-smoking/vaping?

Yes, The Vault Hotel is a strict no-smoking property, this also includes vaping, marijuana, and e-cigarettes including on our balconies and anywhere within 50 feet of the building.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation notice is required at a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your arrival date. If you cancel your reservation within 48 hours of arrival, you will be charged for your 1st night on your reservation.

Group bookings are subject to more advanced notice of cancellation. A group booking is considered 3 or more rooms on one reservation. Please contact the hotel directly for cancellation policies on a group booking.

Is the Vault Hotel wheelchair and ADA accessible?

Yes. The main street entrance and lobby of The Vault Hotel are wheelchair accessible with an elevator to every floor. We have an ADA room located on the main lobby level. 

Does the Vault Hotel have rollaway beds? Portable cribs?

Yes. The Vault Hotel offers both rollaway beds and portable cribs, however rollaway beds do not fit in every room. Please contact us at info@thevaulthotel.com or by phone to add these to your reservation. 

How can I book a group reservation?

Do you have a pool, fitness center, spa, or restaurant?

Due to our small footprint, the hotel does not have a pool, spa or fitness center. We do have a private, exclusive Speakeasy on the ground level for guests to enjoy. In addition, to make your stay extra special, consider adding any of our luxury packages to your room during booking. Do you allow photography?

Using photographs and videos taken in the hotel for commercial or public purposes is illegal. Those who do so will be subject to prosecution.

Does the Vault Hotel offer laundry services?

The hotel does not offer personal laundry service. There is a public laundromat downtown within a few blocks of the hotel that accepts credit card. 

Does the Vault Hotel offer room service?

Yes! The hotel is staffed around the clock. Please let us know how we can assist you. 

How do I book a space for a meeting?

The hotel offers a spacious and inviting meeting room on the first floor available to guests to utilize for meetings outside of our breakfast hours. To inquire about availability, please contact us at info@thevaulthotel.com or by phone.

How do I change my reservation?

Please call us directly at 906.481.1100 or email us at info@thevaulthotel.com to make changes to your reservation. We will do our best to accommodate changes to your travel plans and we look forward to seeing you!

I booked on another site, how do I change my reservation?

Third-party bookings must change their reservation directly with the booking site. We encourage you to book direct for ease of changes. 

Do you have an airport shuttle service or taxi?

The Vault Hotel does not offer a shuttle service. Local taxi service is available, please ask a guest representative for recommendations.

Who do I contact if I have a question about my bill or reservation?

I want to add a package to my room. How do I so after booking?

Packages can be added at the time of booking. If you missed it or decided to add later, please reach out to info@thevaulthotel.com or call. We offer a large selection of packages designed to make your stay with us extra special. Please give at least 24 hour notice for us to make appropriate accommodations.  

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept any major cards. 

Do you offer AAA, USAA or any other discounts?

As a small property, we are not affiliated with or able to offer any discounts. We apologize for the inconvenience. We promise you’ll be spoiled in other ways and will enjoy your stay. We look forward to seeing you!

Do you have a waitlist?

Yes! The Vault Hotel does book up fast. We do have a waitlist that you can add too if your search dates are full or you may call the front desk and be added. Please note large events fill up many months in advance, especially for events such as University Commencements, Winter Carnival, Alumni Reunion and sporting events. 

What do I do if I did not receive an email confirmation?

Please email us at info@thevaulthotel.com or call and we can make sure it gets to the right place.  We will do our best to find your reservation and make any necessary adjustments.
